If you are planning to conduct research or prepare
a research grant application, we are developing a range of resources
that may help you in the section "Support
for the Drug Abuse Researcher." Our Grant
Writing Tutorial is great place to start. There are also specific
Resources
for Minority Researchers. If you would like to search for available
Funding Opportunities or need grant application forms, you can do
that too. For background research, try our various databases
of abstracts, periodicals and government publications or refer to
our award winning addiction links page.
This section of Drugnet is being developed under Small
Business Innovative Research Contract N43DA-8-5060 with funding
from the National Institute on
Drug Abuse.
The purpose of this Small Business
Innovative Research project is to develop a set of robust Internet
resources that will be made available to new researchers seeking
opportunities that address the mission and priorities of NIDA. Danya
International with its subcontractor, Aspen Systems Corporation,
proposed a Web site solution for the community of drug abuse researchers,
with a special emphasis on new and minority researchers. Drug abuse
researchers at both non-profit and for-profit organizations and
agencies such as medical schools, research institutes, hospitals,
and local, state, and federal governmental agencies are in a prime
position to reap the enormous benefits of Web-based systems. Among
other things, researchers will be able to collaborate on an ongoing
basis, share ideas and experiences, and obtain a wealth of resources
not currently accessible on any other type of platform.
